James Roy Meikle
James Roy Meikle, passed away February 11, 2025.
James was born on January 17, 1942, to John and Lottie Meikle. James, a humble servant of Jesus Christ, in his life he honored him in actions that represented and resembles God and his love towards us. He lived in northern Michigan for over 80 years and touched the lives and hearts of many people in that time.
James was a simple man, not to be mistaken for uneducated. He was a genius, and lived content with what he was blessed with. He enjoyed fishing with his family and loved to drive. He was a familiar face in the pits of the Standish Speedway as the DOC. The DOC could fix just about anything. He not only volunteered his knowledge and skills, tricks and tips to the race car owners, garages, local (STM). He passionately served his fellow man as he understood the assignment from God when he said, “love thy neighbor”.
James lived his life as an example of how to be a real man of God. Anyone he encountered can attest to his patients as he had it mastered. He was a man of valor, who’s happiness and good cheer were contagious. He loved life and because of his investments in the most important things, he died a very rich, very successful man. His legacy of a man who would give you the shirt off his back will go on in the tales of people who had the honor of his generosity.
James had a passion for solving anyones problems and was willing to do so at the drop of a hat. Its been said that you leave this world the same way you come in, naked and with nothing. I say James will take with him all of what he had. He understood that its all about what you’re doing and has nothing to do with how you look doing it.
He will get to pile all those good deeds at the feet of the savior as crowns and jewels. In which James will no doubt receive all his good works pressed down and multiplied in return for his obedience and reflection of God and his majestic mercy.
James was loved by his predeceased brother George Meikle and three sisters. He is survived by his son and his family, Jeremy and Jenessa Kaylor and James’ many grandchildren as well as his brother Delbert Meikle and nephews Jason and Bob Meikle and family, many nieces and nephews, both by blood and law, many friends and acquaintances as James was twice widowed.
