Katheleen E. LaBrosse

Katheleen E. “Katy” LaBrosse, age 94, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 2, 1932, in Rhodes, Michigan, and lived a long life marked by devotion, resilience, and a deep love for those around her.

Katy was a woman whose life centered on her family, and she carried that devotion into every season of her life. She was loving, kind, and selfless, and those qualities were evident to everyone who knew her. She had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, and she gave of herself freely and without hesitation. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She leaves behind her children, Don LaBrosse and his wife Shirley, Bob LaBrosse and his wife Patty, Carol Castanier, Mary Traxler and her husband Larry, Mike LaBrosse, Eileen Monroe and her husband Bill, Mark LaBrosse and his wife Dominque, and Joe LaBrosse and his wife Athena. Katy’s life was one of hard work, determination, and devotion to the people she loved. She traveled all over the county and Germany with her children in tow, creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Her willingness to go wherever life led her, while keeping her children close, spoke to the strength and commitment that defined her. She made a home wherever she was, and her presence brought comfort, stability, and warmth to those around her. Her family will always remember the many miles traveled, the shared experiences, and the love that remained constant through it all.

She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. Katy loved traveling, gardening, sewing, and camping, and these interests reflected her appreciation for beauty, creativity, and time spent with loved ones. Whether she was tending to her garden, working carefully with fabric and thread, exploring new places, or enjoying time outdoors, she embraced life with patience and gratitude.
