Linda L. Foco

Linda L. Foco, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5, 1948 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Bernard and Clarabelle (O’Laughlin) Karbowski. Linda graduated from Pinconning High School in 1966, and from Central Michigan University in 1970. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Michigan State University in 1973. Linda met her husband, Clarke Foco, at Pinconning Area High School and they were married on September 6, 1969. Linda loved reading, cross words, collecting owl figurines and enjoyed being with the grandkids and family. She was active at St. Anne Church as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and marriage encounter.

Linda began her teaching career in the Eaton Rapids, Michigan School District. She later became a Math and English teacher in the Pinconning Area School District. She was later promoted to Curriculum Director for the Pinconning District. Linda then retired in 2008 from the Freeland Community School District, where she was the Assistant Superintendent. Linda was very passionate about her profession, being an educator. She enjoyed being around her students and helping them expand their knowledge and abilities. As an educator, she worked to encourage students to take the next step, and to challenge themselves to stride even further in learning and enriching their lives. Linda’s most important goal was to see her students succeed.

Linda is survived by her husband and sons; Gregory, Bryan (Madison) and Jeremy (Kristin) Foco, grandchildren Thomas, Beatrice, Jonathan, William and Jackson. Brother, Daniel (Natalie) Karbowski, and sister, Janice (John) Wood. In-laws, Gerald Foco, Delores Freeman, Raymond Jr. (Marie) Foco, Loretta (Lonnie) Pelton, Leona (Joe) Krawczyk and Claire (Ron) O’Laughlin. She is predeceased by her parents, and in-laws, Raymond Sr, (Clara) Foco, Leona Foco, Dale Freeman, and Virginia (Bill) Bennett.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace, St. Anne Parish, Linwood, Michigan with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Coffaro presiding. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, Michigan, with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of service.

The family would like to thank Linda’s caregiver of many years, Mrs. Tammy Philipp. Tammy’s compassionate care and kindness were a source of comfort and support for Linda. Tammy made it possible for Linda to have quality care at home.
Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, MI, was in charge of arrangements.
