Nancy Westcott
Nancy (Drouillard) Westcott, aged 86, passed away peacefully on May 15th, 2023, at the home of her daughter Mary (Westcott) and son-in-law Christopher Thomajan in Belmont, MA, where she happily resided for the past six years.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edgar J. Westcott (d. 2011), her son Michael Westcott (d. 2014). She is survived by her five children, Mitchell Westcott of FL, Wendy Westcott of Litchfield, CT, Annie MacPhail of Tortola BVI, Mary Thomajan of Belmont, MA, William Westcott of NYC, NY, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Spirited, quick-witted, and warm, she was dearly beloved by all who knew her.
Nancy was one of five children raised in Bay City, Michigan, where she met Edgar J. Westcott. They were married in December 1957, days before Ed’s US Army station in Germany.
Upon their return from overseas, Ed’s proficiency as a senior automobile stylist at Ford and GM catapulted him into the industrial design world. He was recruited by a design firm in Westport CT. The couple established Westcott Associates. Nancy managed the accounts and human resources for over three decades of Ed’s automobile, industrial, and consumer product design company while raising their six children in Westport, CT.
Nancy’s engaging personality and sense of humor made her a popular figure in the community of Westport, where she made lifelong friendships and generously gave of her time. She volunteered at Assumption School and Church, was an active member of the Ladies Club, assisting the elderly through FISH (Friends I Should Help), and ran MealsOnWheels for several years. Nancy remained a dedicated member of the Catholic church for her lifetime.
After the passing of Ed from Lou Gerhig’s disease in 2011, Nancy moved from Bethlehem, CT to Heritage Village, Southbury, CT where she maintained her volunteer work and activities at her cherished Church of the Nativity.
With an easy smile, dry wit, and a quick sense of humor, Nancy formed friendships wherever she went. She was a popular figure at Belmont MA Beech Street Senior Center and at St Eulalia’s Church in Winchester. At the Belmont Center Christmas Bazaar, she was a fixture selling her beautiful pressed flower note cards that she created for decades.
Masses were held in Nancy’s honor at the Church of the Nativity/Prince of Peace Parish in Bethlehem CT and at St. Eulalia Parish in Winchester, MA.
Family and friends from far and near gathered to celebrate Nancy’s life at a Memorial/Celebration of Life in Sharon VT on October 6, 2023, where she is in eternal rest next to her beloved Ed.
