Roberta “Toots” LaPorte

Roberta “Toots” LaPorte, age 81, of Hale/Long Lake, MI and formerly of Pinconning, loving wife, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Roberta was born on May 21, 1939, in Linwood, MI to the late Robert and Margaret (Lesak) Zawadil. Roberta married Norman LaPorte on May 26, 1964, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood, MI.

Roberta was a graduate of Pinconning High School. She was retired from Polymid Plastics and enjoyed being active in her church. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Roberta loved spending time with her “grandchildren” Sydney and Jake Hamilton.
Surviving besides her husband of 56 years, are her nieces; Deanne (David) Rytlewski and Beth (Jim) Stark; sisters-in-law Lenore Carstens and Darlene Burr; brothers-in-law Paul LaPorte and John LaPorte; nephews Joseph Williams and Michael Williams; and many special friends she loved dearly.

Roberta was predeceased by her sister Barbara Williams; brother Willard Zawadil; sisters-in-law Dolores LaPorte and Barbara Zawadil.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pinconning with Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym presiding with burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Hale Area Fish Food Pantry, 3764 N. M-65 Hale, Michigan.
